happy 2011! i have been waiting to write a new post because i have many exciting new things to announce for me and any followers of this blog. i'll address that in the next post...but for now, wanted to post a link to an interview with me that appeared in 
the missoulian, our local newspaper. joe nickell had many interesting and probing questions about the role and importance of black and white photography in our current digital and color dominated world.

    I was at a workshop with Jay Maisel a couple of months ago and he kept talking about the "seduction of color" to photographers, where the color becomes the subject and the composition becomes mush. From that I've been working with B&W medium format since then and also got a 5x7 view camera for more monochrome work. It's definitely helping me see a different world. Wish I could be there for your presentation - I'm sure it would help my eye!
